------------------------------------------------
1. Enliven Viewer Plug-In for Netscape Navigator
------------------------------------------------
If you have downloaded the Enliven Viewer Plug-in for Netscape
Navigator 2.x/3.x, follow the directions below:

A. After completing the install process, you must shut-down and restart
Netscape Navigator prior to viewing Enliven-enabled pages.

B. To verify that Netscape Navigator is able to use the Enliven Viewer
Plug-in: from the Netscape Navigator "Help" menu, select "About
Plug-ins." You should see an entry for "application/vnd.enliven"
referencing NPNLIV32.DLL.

C. If for any reason you do not see Enliven content, verify that
NPNLIV32.DLL (the Enliven Viewer Plug-in) is installed in the PLUGINS
directory. This must be the same PLUGINS directory that Netscape
Navigator is using.

D. To uninstall the Enliven Viewer delete the file NPNLIV32.DLL from
your Netscape Navigator PLUGINS directory. On most systems, this
directory will be C:\PROGRAM FILES\NETSCAPE\NAVIGATOR\PROGRAM\PLUGINS.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
2. Enliven Viewer ActiveX Control for Microsoft Internet Explorer
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you have installed the Enliven Viewer ActiveX Control for Microsoft
Internet Explorer 3.0 or later, please read the following:

A. Upon accessing a page that contains content to be viewed with the
Enliven Viewer for ActiveX for the first time, you will be prompted
with a dialog box and Authenticode Certificate which asks if you would
like to install the Enliven Viewer for ActiveX. If you wish to install
the ActiveX control, click the "yes" button. After the Enliven Viewer
for ActiveX installs, content will buffer and begin playback.

B. If for any reason you do not see Enliven content, verify that
ATLAXNLV.DLL is installed in the WINDOWS/OCCACHE directory.

------------
3. Firewalls
------------
If you are connecting to the Internet through a firewall, or through an
on-line service like AOL that maintains a firewall, read the following:

A. The default configuration of the Enliven 1.5 media server is to not
enable the firewall pass through support and require that TCP/IP port
#537 is available and enabled from the firewall in order to allow
Enliven content to run.

B. If you are not able to view Enliven-enabled pages, make sure that
your company's firewall is enabled to allow TCP/IP PORT #537 to enter
or that the Enliven server has been configured to allow firewall pass
through support.

C. If you are using America Online you should upgrade to the latest
release of the America Online software, version 3.0. This release will
allow you to use either Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet
Explorer and play Enliven movies. You must be using the America
Online software for Windows 95 which provides 32-bit Winsock features.

4. Known Problems
-----------------
A. Pauses During Playback
-------------------------
In some instances of extreme fluctuations in network throughput, you may
experience a condition where an animation sequence appears to pause for
up to five seconds. This occurs when network latency suddenly changes
and immediate additional buffering is needed.

WORKAROUND: Wait for a moment and the animation will continue to run.
Audio and graphics sequences will be automatically re-synchronized.

B. Sound and Video Synchronization
----------------------------------
On some PC configurations, synchronization between audio and graphics
may be off by a fraction of a second. This is most noticeable on
older systems or in low memory situations.

C. Color Problems with Microsoft Network (MSN) Browser
------------------------------------------------
Due to subtle differences between the color palettes used by the
MSN browser and Microsoft Internet Explorer, colors may appear
slightly different during playback within the MSN browser.

-----------------------------------
5. Problems fixed with this release
-----------------------------------
A. Firewall pass through support has been added.
